Ubisoft is returning to E3 this year with their annual press conference, and surprisingly, the leaks have been minimal thus far. Apparently the company plans to have 3 unannounced AAA titles released by March 2020. This article is going to break down four unconfirmed games that we hope to see at their conference.
A New Splinter Cell Game
As I stated in my Xbox predictions article, I think this is the year we’ll finally see the return of Sam Fisher and the Splinter Cell franchise. With Ghost Recon Breakpoint set to be the main focus of the conference, I don’t expect to see much more than a teaser for the initial reveal. Spinter Cell has made some news as of late between three Splinter Cell games getting Xbox One X enhancements, and the “joke” that Ubisoft creative director Julian Gerighty made when he tweeted out saying the game was being worked on. Not to mention two days ago where a listing of replica Sam Fisher goggles appeared on Gamestop’s store under the E3 Merchandise section which were promptly taken down not long after.
One of the few things that might have actually been leaked from the upcoming conference is the existence of a roller derby game called Roller Champions. Leaked marketing material makes it seem like this game will be played similar to Rocket League, and even has similar enclosed arenas to it. As someone who knows nothing about roller derby, but enjoys Rocket League, the prospect of Roller Champions is intriguing, and it would be interesting to see how this game looks if it’s revealed at the conference.
Watch Dogs 3
Another game that is rumored to be appearing at the conference is Watch Dogs 3. The latest entry in the Watch Dogs franchise is reportedly set to take place in London, and will bring back the parkour and technology hacking that has made the franchise better with every new entry. With the conference a week away, we won’t have to wait very long to find out if Watch Dogs 3 is one of the unannounced AAA titles coming out before March 2020.
A New Assassin’s Creed game
This game might be a bit of a long shot to make an appearance at this year’s E3, since it’s already been confirmed that there won’t be a new Assassin’s Creed game coming out this year. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we know nothing about the game though. The next entry of the franchise looks to be about Vikings and Norse mythology, as evidenced by an easter egg in The Division 2. The game will likely be slated for a Fall 2020 release, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility of us getting a tease for the new game at E3 this year just to build up hype.
You can watch the Ubisoft E3 2019 Conference on Monday, June 10. The show will kick off at 12PM Pacific/3PM Eastern.
