Nintendo is stacked with games this year and we are starting to get release dates on some of them, but we have yet to hear about dates for the rest of them. We already know about Fire Emblem and Super Mario Maker 2, they are approaching rather quickly. However, it’s games like Animal Crossing that we still know almost nothing about. And, with the recent confirmation of the new Pokemon game coming in early November, Nintendo’s schedule for the rest of the year is looking pretty nice.
Animal Crossing Gets a 2020 Release Date
Animal Crossing is arguably Nintendo’s second biggest title this year after Pokemon and it deserves its time to shine. However, because it isn’t being advertised as a game to appear on the show floor at E3, this may mean that the game is farther off than we may hope. Of all games that are supposed to be coming this year, this is the most likely to be delayed until 2020. It will more than likely be released earlier in 2020, but, the schedule is so full as it is.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 Announced for October This year
The spookiest game in Nintendo’s upcoming releases seems only fitting to release in the spookiest month of the year. While release dates have been all over the place for this series. Most recently, however, the Luigi’s Mansion remake on the 3ds released in October, and it makes sense to release the third game in the series almost a year exactly after the remastered version of the original game came out. It also helps fill out the calendar for the rest of the upcoming year for Nintendo.
Banjo And Kazooie and Tracer are announced for Smash
Banjo and Kazooie are quite possibly the most exciting character possibility right now, they have a long history with Nintendo, and have seen a strong resurgence in popularity recently with all the nostalgia inducing games coming out. And, while this may just be me trying to wish it into existence, landing Overwatch and celebrating by bringing Tracer to Smash would just be an amazing announcement.
Paper Mario coming 2020
We have heard various leaks and rumors regarding this franchise coming to the switch after the last two games have been poorly received by the general public. Paper Mario: Color Splash was better received mainly because of the writing and story of the game, but was still unpopular with Paper Mario fans. With the coming 20th anniversary of the original game, E3 would be the perfect time to announce something new in the series. Whether it be a remake, a collection, or something new, as long as it returns to the old style of the first two games, fans will be satisfied.
Bayonetta 3 Gets a trailer
Everyone has been hyped about Metroid Prime 4 and wondering whether or not we would hear anything from Retro Studios this year at E3. However, the other major game announced later that year, Bayonetta 3, has been completely forgotten about. Platinum games has been hard at work on other titles like Astral Chain, which is set to come out in August. It seems only fitting that after seeing Astral Chain, we get to see some gameplay of Bayonetta 3. It’s been a few years since we have heard anything about this game. It surely isn’t coming this year, but having it come out next year might be a safe bet.
